Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of Services

The following services are offered by Zuper Handy, hereafter referred to as "Company":

  • General Home Repairs: Patching holes, fixing trim, adjusting doors and hardware, light fixture swaps.
  • Electrical: Replacing GFCI outlets, light switches, ceiling fans, doorbells (non-permitted work only).
  • Plumbing: Faucet and fixture replacement, toilet installation, minor leak repairs (no water main or gas line work).
  • Smart Tech: Doorbell cameras, smart switches, Wi-Fi devices, thermostat replacements, smart locks.
  • Child Safety & Accessibility: Installing cabinet latches, baby gates, outlet covers, grab bars, bed rails.
  • Assembly & Mounting: Furniture assembly, wall-mounting TVs, shelves, and art.
  • Other Tasks: Additional tasks may be performed at the Company’s discretion and are subject to the same terms. These include tasks not explicitly listed but reasonably within the skills of a professional handyman.

Any work requiring licensed contracting, electrical permits, plumbing beyond fixture replacement, or structural alterations is outside the scope of this agreement.

2. Payment Terms

  • Standard rate is $100/hour, with a 1-hour minimum per visit.
  • All time is billed in full-hour increments. Time is not prorated.
  • Payment is due upon completion of service unless agreed in advance.
  • Accepted methods: Cash, Check, Zelle.
  • Returned checks incur a $35 fee. Late payments incur a 1.5% monthly interest.
  • Invoices unpaid after 14 days may be sent to collections.

3. Insurance

The Company carries general liability insurance to cover damages caused by gross negligence during work. Proof of insurance can be provided upon request.

This insurance does not cover damage resulting from pre-existing issues, materials supplied by the client, or hidden conditions in walls or structures.

4. Liability and Indemnification

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Zuper Handy, its employees, and contractors against any claims, damages, or losses arising from:

  • Injuries on-site not caused by our negligence.
  • Client-provided parts, tools, or unsafe conditions.
  • Existing structural, electrical, or plumbing issues.

Liability is strictly limited to the total value of services performed. No incidental or consequential damages shall be awarded.

5. Workmanship Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for 30 days. Warranty covers labor only, not materials. Warranty is void if work is altered by another party or misused.

6. Appointment Policies

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a 1-hour service charge.
  • Service time begins upon arrival at your address.

7. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to decline or cancel service if the worksite is unsafe, access is denied, or the client exhibits abusive behavior.

8. Photo Documentation

Before and after photos may be taken for liability protection. These may be used for marketing purposes unless the client opts out in writing.

9. Acts of God / Force Majeure

The Company shall not be held liable for any failure to perform due to causes beyond its control, including natural disasters, accidents, strikes, outages, pandemics, or other unforeseeable events.

10. Termination of Contract

Either party may terminate service at any time for any reason. Services rendered up to the point of termination must be paid in full. Refunds for prepaid work will be prorated based on completed labor.

11. Dispute Resolution

All disputes must first be attempted to be resolved in good faith. If unsuccessful, disputes shall be settled by mediation or binding arbitration in the State of Illinois, prior to litigation.

12. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By requesting or confirming service with Zuper Handy, the Client acknowledges acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, whether via phone, text, email, or booking form.

14. Use of Testimonials, Photos & Video

By acknowledging the work completion and submitting a testimonial or providing a signature, the Client consents to the use of submitted quotes, photos of the jobsite, and video testimonials for marketing purposes, including social media and company promotional materials. No identifying personal information will be shared without additional consent.

Clients may opt out of this usage by submitting a written request to the Company.
